A Medley of NFL American Football News
There will be no missing out on training camps due to contracts for Nick Mangold. He is the center for the New York Jets but there have been ongoing contractual problems that threaten to derail the entire program. Of course one perfectly understands that he needs to protect his career if there is to be some traction in such matters. However we also need to recognize the different elements that he will need to work with in order to gain the match fitness that can win championships. This is the ultimate test of negotiating skills. On the one hand you want to ensure that you have a permanent home by way of a contract that can stand the test of time. On the other hand you are not willing to take on terms that are not conducive for your performance. That is why training is sometimes used as a tactic. The problem is that the teams can call the bluff and simply tell you to take a walk. If you have burnt all your bridges then there will be plenty of trouble on the horizon.
We report some sad news that Kaye Cowher has died at the age of fifty four years. She was the wife of the previous Steelers? coach. This brings back memories of the great work that was down for Super Bowl. There are many condolences that are being sent from the fans and the managers that worked with the coach. Hopefully the family will be able to get through this very difficult period.
We also hear that there is a scheduled date for the trial of Leroy Hill. The charges that have been laid so far include misdemeanor assault as well as domestic violence. Meanwhile the Seahawks continue with their training. It is not yet clear how the trial itself will affect the dynamics of the team and the training. However it is also quite clear that this is something that is just not going to go away easily. One can only hope that the issues will be resolved quickly and the games can begin.
